In every persons social insurance pay, a small percent of that goes into a insurance fund that is specifically meant to go towards payments made for accidents at work. There are two main categories; one being injuries benefit which is a six month pay that can be added onto the two year entitlement of illness benefit. The other is disablement benefit, which is not to be confused with the old disability benefit payment. Disablement benefit is a pension pay in its own right, where no entitlement to invalidity exists. Where entitlement to invalidity benefit does exist, disablement benefit can be payed as a supplement. Disablement benefit is unusual in that it is a whole of life payment. We work with solicitors in relation to these payments particularly in regards to Personal Injuries cases.
